Thriller
Next Michael began trying to work harder on a bigger and better album called Thriller. He started working with other composers on sounds and lyrics. Epic records decided on a certin date for the album to come out but Michael was way behind schedule. When he listened to the album he thought somthing was missing but Quincy just told him thats as good as its going to get. Michael didnt stop so he demanded an exstenstion for his release date. Epic did not like this but knew they had to let Michael do what was best for the album. Eventually the album came out and Michael was very satisfied with his work. Quincy was proved wrong and he was proud of Michaels work. Thriller was one of Michael number one albums and won 8 Grammys in one night. Which he still holds the record for. Now did Michael keep up with thriller?

Off The Wall
Michael's decision ended up being good and bad. Good because there ideas were never rejected and bad because none of there songs were great hits. At this point Michael new he would never forget the Jackson 5 but knew he would have to move on for the better of his career. Michael had been looking for music producers to make the best album he could. Thats when he was introduced to Quince Jones, one of the great music producers in the 1970's. They began to work on an album called Off the Wall. Michael wanted this to be the best first album he had made. Instead it had only won Two awards in the grammy's but had many one hit wonders known as Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, and Rock With You. Michael was dispointed but knew he would do greater things on the next album.

Berry Gordy
There First and Last show as ametures happened at the Apollo theater in Chicago. After there great preformance, Berry Gordy (founder of Motown) set up an audtion to see these kids. Well Berry Gordy loved them and wanted to sign them imediently to Motown. They were all proud and Michael was so excited he knew Berry Gordy would sign them. Right away the Jackson 5 had to get to work. There first singles that hit the top were I'll Be There, ABC, and I Want You back. After they were making tv apperances on the Ed Sullivan show but Michael didnt like this. He didn't really like tv because he thought it was too fake. Well as Motown was with them Michael and his brother's were tired of being told how to dress and how to sing. So they decided to move on with there lives and sign with CBS. Deep inside Michael wanted to stay because he didnt want to dispoint Berry, he was like a father to him. Then again Michael knew he had to move on for the better of the group and himself. Was this a good move for the Jackson 5?

Childhood Memories
Michael Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana. He grew up in a small house on 2500 Jackson street. Michael grew up in a strict inviroment because of his father. Once there father started seeing them sing and practice songs he knew he could start somthing out with the 5 brothers. He created the Jackson 5. They practice so many times; after school, before they go to bed and any gig they were going to play in. Michael and the brother had no time for play. He wanted to be a part of the group sure, but he also wanted to be the singer in the band. They soon were prefroming at talent shows, strip clubs, and other places. Once they started taking road trips to Chicago it was the start of a new life for the boys.
